Mr. Peter B. Favila was Chairman of the ABA from 1996 to 1998. He was then President of the state-owned Philippine National Bank (PNB). At that time, he was one of the youngest bank presidents in the country. Before joining the PNB in June 1995, Mr. Favila was president of Security Bank Corp. Prior to that, he was director of treasury of Exchange Capital Corp., an affiliate of Jardine Fleming of Hong Kong. From 1974 to 1980, he was senior vice president of Metropolitan Bank & Trust Co. In 1967, he was a foreign clerk and money market trader at Citibank N.A. His first job was messenger, clearing clerk and bookkeeper at the now defunct Merchants Banking Corp. Mr. Favila graduated with a banking and finance degree from the University of Sto. Tomas. He also took the Advanced Management Program at Wharton School of Finance.After his term as ABA Chairman ended, Mr. Favila became President of Allied Banking, and later President of the Philippine Stock Exchange. He is currently the Secretary of the Department of Trade and Industry.

Datuk Amirsham Aziz is Managing Director of Malayan Banking Berhad (Maybank). He joined Maybank in 1997 after a four-year stint with Hanafiah Rasian Mohamad, a public accounting firm. He started as a loan manager for Mayban Finance Corp., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Maybank. In May 1982, he was transferred to Maybank as Assistant General Manager, Domestic Banking Division. After three years, he was seconded to Asiavest Merchants Bankers to help reconstruct the bank. Six months later, he moved back to Maybank as Asst. General Manager of the Treasury Division, and later promoted as General Manager, Finance. He assumed higher positions over the next few years, culminating in his appointment to his present position in May 1994. Aside from being Managing Director of Maybank, Datuk Amirsham also serves on the boards of numerous Maybank Group subsidiaries and other leading organizations. Datuk Amirsham graduated with a Bachelor of Economics (Honors) degree from the University of Malaya in 1973.

Dr. Yung-san Lee, former Minister of Finance of the Republic of China, is now Chairman of GreTai Securities Market. He served as ROC Finance Minister from January to October 2002. Prior to his appointment to the Finance Ministry, Dr. Lee was chairman of the International Commercial Bank of China, one of Taiwan¡¦s largest commercial banks. He also worked as chairman of the Taipei-based Farmers Bank of China from 1994 to 1998. Before that, he was general manager of the Chiao Tung Bank and director at the Institute of Economics of the Academia Sinica. Dr.Lee served as Chairman of the Bankers Association of Taipei. Dr. Lee holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Wisconsin in the United States, and has taught economics at National Taiwan University between 1970 and 1994.

Amb. Alfonso T. Yuchengco is Chairman of the Rizal Commercial Commercial Banking Corp. (RCBC). He is one of the most successful and respected businessmen in the Philippines. Aside from banking (RCBC), the range of his family-owned businesses includes insurance, oil exploration, construction, logging, agriculture, communications and manufacturing. Amb. Yuchengco¡¦s business acumen and international ties have made him a prime candidate for the diplomatic corps. During President Corazon Aquino¡¦s administration, he was appointed Philippine Ambassador to China. He also served as Philippine ambassador to Japan during President Fidel Ramos¡¦ tenure. During President Estrada¡¦s term, he was appointed presidential assistant on APEC matters. When President Macapagal-Arroyo took over in 2001, he was named roving ambassador in charge of Korea, China and Japan, and was later appointed Philippine Permanent Representative to the United Nations, a position he held until December 2002. At present, aside from his business endeavours, Amb. Yuchengco is still very much active in various civic, professional and philanthropic organizations. He is also a recipient of many distinguished awards, including The Outstanding Filipino Awardee for 2000.
