Asian Banks: Coping with Risks and Seizing Opportunities
This issue features speeches, papers and other materials presented during the 25th ABA General Meeting and Conference held on October 30-31, 2008 in Bangkok, Thailand. Hosted by the Bangkok Bank PCL, the event focused on the theme "Asian Banking: Coping with Risks and Seizing Opportunities." Eminent speakers were invited to share their valuable insights on the market risks and uncertainties currently faced by the banking sector in the region and how Asian bankers could take advantage of the challenges and opportunities that these risks present to financial institutions. The seminar covered four topics, namely: "The Global Macroeconomic and Banking Environment", "Global Liquidity and Its Impact on Asia," "Asian Banking: Intra-Regional Credit and Investment Issues," and "The New Banker Generation."
