Cyber security, Digital Transformation & Sustainable Goals to be discussed in ABA Policy Advocacy Committee Meeting on August 3rd, 2022

2017 1026 ABA logo Gold 300The Asian Bankers Association (ABA) is pleased to invite members, associates and friends to participate in the online meeting of the ABA Policy Advocacy Committee to be held on August 3, 2022, from 02:30 PM to 04:30 PM, Taipei time.

The meeting – the second to be held by the Committee this year – will discuss and finalize policy papers on three current affecting its members and banking industry. Four bank members have been invited to prepare and present the papers during the meeting.

2020 0115 Eugene Acevedo 02(1) Welcome Remarks from ABA Chairman Mr. Eugene Acevedo, President and CEO, Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC).

(2) Opening Remarks from Committee Chairwoman Ms. Christina Alvarez, Senior Vice President and Head of Corporate Planning Group (RCBC).

(3) Consideration of The Paper on Digital Transformation by Ms. Fathimath Farihath Waheed, Head of Cards & Payment Governance, and Mr. Badhurudheen Hassan, Head of Retail Banking & Cards from Bank of Maldives, Maldives.

  • Bank of Maldives will introduce the measures it has implemented over the past year on its digital transformation journey, on the challenges it has met in driving change and how it overcame them, on its digital banking infrastructure and solutioning, and on its Fintech collaboration.

(4) Consideration of The Papers on Cyber Security Management by Suresh Emmanuel, Chief Information Security Officer, Hatton National Bank, Sri Lanka, and Mahdieh Noroozian, Chief Planning & Development Officer, Dotin from Bank Pasargad, Iran.

  • Hatton National Bank (HNB) will provide updates on its continuing efforts to enhance its cyber security system, its cooperation with other financial institutions and technical bodies to strengthen cybersecurity, as well as its experience in protecting against customer fraud.
  • Bank Pasargad in collaboration with its in-house banking solution Dotin, will present their CDN system; a cybersecurity system that ensures simultaneous high performance of content distribution under secure conditions using the latest cybersecurity tools, including Threat Hunting, EDR, PAM, SOC, PEN Test, EMS, GRC and Red Team.

(5) Consideration of The Paper on Cooperation in Achieving Sustainable Goals by Juan Gabriel Rodriguez Tomas IV, Chief Risk Officer, Risk Management Group, Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC), Philippines.

  • Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) from the Philippines will report on its recent activities in implementing regulatory framework for Sustainable Finance and how it is addressing new and emerging challenges in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

(6) Consideration of Issues for Future Policy Advocacy Work VII. Other Matters.
