Born in 1974 in Moscow. In 1997 he graduated with honors from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations. In 2011 received an MBA from the Cass Business School in London. He also holds a certificate of advanced training in Corporate Finance from the London Business School.
In 1997–2004 worked for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and for the Russian Embassy in the UK.
In 2004-2006 he headed the Division for Work with Representative Offices of the State Corporation “Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank)”.
In 2006–2013 he was heading the Representative office of Vnesheconombank in London.
February 2013 to April 2018, Mr. Ivanov worked as Deputy Chairman of the Board of the International Investment Bank. Until January 2017, he supervised the Treasury and Investment Attraction block; since February 2017, he has headed the credit and investment block.
Since April 2018, by unanimous decision of the Bank’s shareholders, Mr. Ivanov was appointed as the Chairman of the Board of the International Bank for Economic Co-operation.
