Mr. Mehran is a career banker and financial manager having been Chief Representative of some of the largest foreign banks in Iran. In 37 years of top management and executive experience with a number of world’s leading corporations and banks including Iran Power Plant Projects Management Company (MAPNA), Mapna International FZE of UAE, Standard Chartered Bank PLC of UK and Intesa Sanpaolo SPA of Italy, Bank Muscat of Oman, Mr. Mehran has structured more than 7.000 MW of Build, Operate, Transfer (B.O.T.) and Build, Own, Operate (B.O.O.) projects, arranged financing for Buy Back Projects in Oil & Gas, and devised complex multi-source financing schemes under Export Credit Agency (E.C.A.) coverage. He has served thousands of corporate and private customers in three continents, overseen billions of Euro of trade finance transactions annually, and advised on an important number of cross boarder investments.
He is a graduate of Suffield Academy (CT, USA) and Columbia University School of Engineering & Applied Sciences (NY, USA), and began his career in New York with Chemical Bank Investment Banking where he worked on a number of Leveraged Buyout deals, securitization of LBO loans, Lesser Developed Countries (LDC) debt swaps for optimizing the banks’ portfolio, and the development of a number of forecasting models and the banks’ historical database on Futures & Options.
He is presently the Chief Advisor to the CEO & Board of Directors of Bank Pasargad and General Manager of Foreign Asset & Investment Management Department. Mr. Mehran is responsible for management of investment banking activities of the bank, management of foreign assets, international securities research, creating of international funds, management of the bank’s international investment portfolio and establishment of the bank’s international network.
In May 2012, Mr. Mehran received the Italian Presidential Medal of Honor “Ordine della Stella d’Italia” from the Italian President H.E. Giorgio Napolitano for extraordinary achievements throughout career.
