The Asian Bankers Association (ABA) will hold an exclusive roundtable discussion bringing together representatives from 10 leading banks in Taiwan to examine the future direction of financial crime compliance in an increasingly complex and dynamic risk environment.
The roundtable, themed “Modernizing Taiwan Financial Crime Compliance Operations: Achieving 24/7 Online Operations by Balancing Immediate Risk, Regulatory Expectations, Rapid Response, and Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence,” will take place on 11 August 2026, from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM, at the 10th Floor of the Chinese Culture University campus on Jianguo Road in Taipei.
The half-day session will bring together Taiwanese banking and financial crime compliance professionals to exchange experiences, share perspectives, and learn from peers facing similar challenges. The key insights and collective views emerging from the discussion will subsequently be compiled into a bilingual Chinese-English white paper for distribution to Taiwanese bankers and members of the Asian Bankers Association, with the aim of promoting broader industry dialogue on the future development of financial crime compliance in Taiwan.
The event is being organized in collaboration with ABA Knowledge Partner Fintelekt Advisory Services and its partner SymphonyAI (www.symphonyai.com).
To be conducted in Chinese and English, the roundtable discussion will focus on five key issues affecting Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and financial crime compliance operations:
(1) Financial Crime in Taiwan: What Changes Have Occurred?
(2) Has Financial Crime Exceeded the Capacity of the Existing Control Framework?
(3) What Factors Will Drive the Modernization of Financial Crime Compliance Plans?
(4) Building Future Financial Crime Compliance Operating Models with Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence
(5) Looking to the Future: Shaping the Next Generation of Financial Crime Compliance Operating Models
