The coronavirus pandemic has accelerated the pace and need for digital transformation in the economy and society. Now is the opportunity for countries around the world to harness transformative technologies in the context of this new reality.
Financial Times Live, in partnership with the Cabinet Office of Japan, is delighted to host an online discussion on how digitalisation can help to solve the world’s most pressing issues around inclusive economic recovery, urbanisation and the climate emergency, by creating a new digital agenda for 2021 and beyond.
Discussion points include:
- How best can the deployment of digital transformative technologies such as Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, and big data help boost social inclusiveness?
- To what extent is digitalisation contributing to the revitalisation of rural areas, and by extension, the economy?
- What are the safeguards for the public concern over personal data collection and protection, as well as data vendor monopolies?
- How can digitalisation contribute to achieving a circular economy?
