Daniel Wu Conferred Chairman Emeritus Title

ABA Advisory Council Member Mr. Daniel Wu has been conferred by the ABA Board of Directors’ the prestigious title of “Chairman Emeritus” in recognition of his continued active participation in ABA activities for the past five years after his term as ABA Chairman ended in 2018.

The Board conferred the title on Mr. Wu during the 62nd ABA Board of Directors’ Meeting held on November 10, 2023 held in conjunction with the 39th ABA General Meeting and Conference in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Mr. Wu served as ABA Chairman from 2014 to 2018, or two terms totaling four years. He was the first incumbent Chairman voted to the position for a second term – marking a milestone in the history of the Association.

With over 35 years’ experience of developing and expanding business in Asia for international institutions in the United States, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Mr. Wu served as President as well as Chairman and commissioner of the Executive Committee of CTBC Financial Holding until his retirement in 2021. Prior to joining CTBC, Daniel held senior management roles with Bankers Trust, Goldman Sachs Asia and CIBC. He holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Rochester.
