Taiwan Academy of Banking and Finance & CTBC Bank’s Short Term Visiting Program in Taipei

2014 04 TABF image2The ABA coordinated with Taiwan Academy of Banking and Finance (TABF) and CTBC Bank in jointly organizing a short-term visiting program on April 22-23, 2014 in Taipei entitled “Implementing a Holistic Governance Framework to Facilitate the Risk Management Process.”

Held at the TABF training facilities, the program aimed at helping participants to become not only the gatekeepers for risks, but also proactive contributors to the value generation process of banks. Over 40 bankers from 16 ABA member banks in six countries took part in the program.

The program covered four main topics, namely: Integrated Risk Management in Banks; Credit Risk Management in Banks; Operational Risk in Banks; and Market Risk Management in Banks.

On the second day, the workshop participants visited the Bankers Association of the Republic of China (BAROC).  The visit enabled provided the participants to get oriented with BAROC’s projects and activities to help promote the interest of its members and the banking industry of Taiwan as a whole.

 

 

 

2014 04 TABF image7Visit to the Taiwan Stock Museum

After the meeting with BAROC, the delegates proceeded to the Taiwan Stock Museum. The Museum, which opened to the public on December 2012, is the only one of its kind in Taiwan. It was planned and created by the Taiwan Depository and Clearing Corporation and presents a repository of artifacts that showcase the historical development of Taiwan’s stock market.
